If You Are Scared Read This Out Loud

Read these Psalms out loud when you are afraid or scared.

When there are thoughts in your mind that are making you afraid, when there’s a noise in the house but you’re all alone, when you have an anxiety attack or severe pain, when you feel frightened or scared in any circumstance; We can find immediate help, comfort, and safety in a time of need, in the presence of God.

Psalms 3:5,6

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me roundabout.

Psalm 4:8

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 34:4

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 56:3,4

Psalm 118:17

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. (repeat) I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord!

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

In their hands they shall lift you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra. The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will exalt him, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

Make it Personal
  • When reading these Psalms you can change the wording from “him,” to “me,” “we,” “our,” “us,” or “them” to make it personal for yourself, family, or loved ones.

Example for female: “Because she has set her love upon Me, therefore I will deliver her;
For a family or group: “They shall call upon Me, and I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble;

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” –Jesus

Would you like to know Jesus as your personal Lord and savior?

The promises and provisions of God come through our salvation in Christ Jesus. Salvation comes through the repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus’ death for our sins on the cross, and His resurrection from the grave. Pray this prayer today, and make the decision to become part of God’s Kingdom.

“As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.”
Joshua 24:15
